The 9th World Congress of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations (WFUCA) is taking place on 21-24 July, 2015 in Beijing, China. In the framework of celebration of the 70th anniversary of UNESCO delegates from all around the world gathered to hold a re-election of the executive committee members and to identify the perspective development directions of the Organization.
Today, 24 July 2015 - Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs on behalf of the Asia-Pacific region became one of the 5 members of the Executive Council of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs for the period of 4 years. This event underlines the trust and respect of the member countries of the World Movement of UNESCO to the Kazakhstan Federation.The first UNESCO clubs were originated in 1947 in Japan, in the city of Sendai and now they exist in 120 countries around the world, promoting the ideals and principles of UNESCO among the representatives of civil society.
In turn, the first UNESCO Club in Kazakhstan was established in 2005 and today, the National Federation includes 35 clubs, bringing together more than 3,000 young talents of Kazakhstan. By focusing its activities on the support and development of creative and talented younger generation, Kazakhstan Federation just in June 2015 has held a large-scale festival "Children in the Rhythm of World", which was very much appreciated by the participants of the Congress in the framework of country presentations.
It should also be noted that earlier Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs has already acquired a right for conduction of the Executive Board Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2016.
